Why the IT of yesterday is not any longer sufficient?  The    world‘s    changing.    Faster    and    faster    and    with    deeper    impacts    to    current    business    and lifestyle.   Could you   have   imagined   10 years   ago,   that   online   shops   are   killing   massively   traditional shops   and   malls?   Is   this   the   fault   of   Amazon?   No   it‘s   not.   Amazon   has   only   recognized,   that shopping   is   functioning   different   today   than   20   years   ago.   They   have   recognized   that   top   service is the key success factor & most important thing for many customers. Same   is   Apple.   Apples   does   not   sell   a   product.   They   sell   a   lifestyle   and   they   do   this   already   since decades. In addition to their top service, they became the global player today. All   these   developments   are   hardly   to   achieve   with   yesterday   ‘s   tools   &   technologies.   Time   to market & costs of former tools & technologies compared to today ‘s opportunities.  Successful   players   do   question   their   business   models   on   regular   base.   They   are   able   to   put themselves   in   the   shoes   of   the   customers   and/or   suppliers. They   don‘t   accept   the   „status   quo“   as given. They do ask questions like e.g.: How   would   my   customers   describe   the   „Happy   World“   What   would   my   customers   wish? How would the perfect & automated work-together look like? What would be my future business model in a perfect world? How can I be different & better than my competitors? How is my market changing? What are the future requirements of my customers & suppliers? Who are my future competitors? In disruptive markets, very often you don‘t see your future competitors.  These   are   only   some   sample   questions   you   should   ask   yourself.   You   don‘t   need   any   external advisors   for   this   first   steps. You will   be   surprised   about   the   outcome   if you   start   such   discussions with   your   customers   and   suppliers.   Your   customers   &   suppliers   will   feel   honored   that   you   ask for   their   opinion.      Don‘t   discuss   pricing   with   them.   Discuss   with   them   how   to   work   better together   and   which   processes   could   be   changed.   Try   to   have   these   discussions   out   of   your   or their office.

Digitalization

The days, where IT was a pure cost center have gone. It can actively support revenues, profits, customer bindings etc. You only have to want it !

everything   is   changing   faster   and   faster!   Markets, Industries,        Products,        Lifecycles        (Services, Suppliers,   Customers   etc.).   Logically   you   need   an IT,   which   is   handling   the   daily   challenges   in   the same   way   and   is   in   parallel   supporting   the   future requirements    &    trends    without    starting    over- and   over   again   at   the   bottom   line.   An   IT   which   is not   depending   on   products-   or   technologies,   but an   IT   which   is   supporting   the   business   targets   of today-     and     tomorrow.          It     is     certainly     not sufficient only to „keep the lights on“.

Important note…

It     is     important     to     me     to     have     an     ongoing information   exchange   across   different   industries &   markets   to   keep   the   look   beyond   the   horizon. You   can‘t   purchase   on   this   page   any   products   and /    or    services.    This    page    is    only    to    introduce common   challenges   in   the   digital   world,   which are independent from your business. CHANGE      means      to      question      things      and probably         to         do         something         different. Digitalization   is   most   of   all   a   CHANGE   PROCESS and    not    a    technology    question.    It    is    the    very unique      chance      to      question      your      current situation,     products,     processes,     services     and organization.        Talk        to        your        employees, colleagues,     customers     and     suppliers     about THEIR   expectations   how   to   do   things   different. What   would   they   change?   That‘s   how   a   change process usually starts….
